The International Wave of Light is observed on October 15th and at 7:00 p.m. in all time zones.
Starting at 7:00 p.m. in whichever time zone parents, families, friends and loved ones around the world live in, they are to light a candle for one hour in memory of the baby they loved and loss too soon.
Observance of the Wave of Light is intended to provide a continuous chain of light that will be “encompassing and spanning across the world and around the globe” for a 24-hour period.
Since the first International Wave of Light was officially took place in 2004, candles, monuments and landmarks have been lit by individuals as well as in groups, in homes and community settings.
If your community is sponsoring an International Wave of Light Observance, please contact us to have in included on our Events page.
